Looking for a space to connect with other graduate writers and build momentum on your projects? Join the Graduate Writer’s Social Hour on April 25th at the Odegaard Writing & Research Center (OWRC) for an informal get-together to support you at any stage of your writing.

This event is an opportunity to meet colleagues across disciplines, start or join a writing group, and discover campus resources that can help make the writing process more productive and sustainable. Whether tackling a dissertation, an article, or coursework, all graduate writers are welcome.

After a pause during COVID, the UW Seattle English Department's Praxis Conference is back! This year's conference will be on May 30, 2025, at the HUB on the Seattle campus. This year’s theme, Multiplicity, focuses on the diverse ways people communicate, learn, and express themselves in and beyond the classroom, asking us to consider what it means to embrace multiplicity for students, teachers, and communities. The Writing@UW Fellowship is now in its second year, continuing to support faculty members teaching W courses who want to take their writing instruction to the next level. This program takes place during Winter Quarter 2025 and introduces a new partner model, encouraging faculty to collaborate within their departments or closely affiliated units.

Do you have students in your courses who might benefit from structured and dedicated time to work through their writing projects? Then please direct them to English 115, Writing Studio. These courses are 2 credits, meet two days a week, are offered at a variety of days and times, are small and low-stakes, and provide students with 2 W credits.
